62-year-old Tasmanian woman is oldest Australian to give birth

At 62 years old, a woman from Tasmania made Australian record by being the oldest woman to give birth in the country. It is the first baby for the woman and her 78-year-old partner. She delivered by cesarean section on Monday at the Frances Perry House, a private hospital in Melbourne.

She broke the record previously held by a 60-year-old woman who gave birth in 2010. But the 62-year-old Tasmanian new mum did not break the record set by a 65-year-old German grandmother who gave birth in May 2015 to quadruplets.

The elderly Tasmanian couple conceived through IVF overseas by using a donor embryo. The newborn was premature at 34 weeks but is doing well.

The mother will remain in hospital until they are well enough to return to Tasmania.

The record of giving birth to a healthy baby in her senior years is held by a 72-year-old Indian woman who could even breastfeed her newborn.

  1. Many clinics state their age requirements. Biotex has none of the restrictions except health conditions. They've already got the similar outcomes. The thing I absolutely love about them is their weekly updates on twitter/fb. Those are the actual results of their everyday work. Our dear son was once among the number of successfully delivered babies. This made me feel over the moon..

  2. Just needed to add that the success rate of IVF treatment depends on a variety of factors, including the most vital: age. IVF success rates in both pregnancy and live birth decline as women age. For women 38-40, however, those numbers decrease. As women age, the number of oocytes that are produced in ovaries decrease naturally, especially after the age of 37. Age alone has a major effect on fertility, and this makes it hard for fertilization and pregnancy to occur. From there, and across most ages, pregnancy success rates are about 6 percentage points higher than live birth rates - pregnancies can result in miscarriage, induced abortion or stillbirth, and this is a major factor in decreasing rates with age.

  3. We made our choice in favor of Biotexcom mainly due to the following strong sides of the clinic. The Doctors. They are really qualified and work for the result. Of course this isn’t the only clinic with high-class professionals in Ukraine, but in medical facilities, a lot depends on the doctors and it’s always good to know that they deserve your trust and are capable of doing their job right. And good doctors in IVF means high success rate. Accommodation.
Biotex packages have accommodation and food included. This is definitely an attractive and convenient feature. All-inclusive Packages.
They are intended to take care of all the possible stress, complicated paper work and possible issues. Price.
Cost of surrogacy in Ukraine is not always low. If you are looking for a very cheap surrogacy program, you are just in the right place.
Most of world clinics can't offer the same services. So that makes difference. We're absolutely satisfied we've chosen them. It's worth working with them.

  4. I used to go through 3 ivf rounds. Every time I was beaten by side effects. It's known, ovarian swelling is one of the common side effects of the drugs in IVF and ICSI. You can look after yourself at home as long as the symptoms are mild. Symptoms usually include bloating and discomfort in your belly and nausea. Painkillers prescribed by your dr, such as paracetamol or codeine, are safe to take and should help to relieve pain. But avoid taking anti-inflammatories, such as ibuprofen or aspirin, as they can affect your kidneys.
You should also drink water to keep your fluid levels up. Just drink enough so that you don't feel thirsty. Although you may think more fluid is the last thing you need when you're bloated, it will help the rest of your body to keep hydrated. Whatever your symptoms, you don't have to suffer in silence. If you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious or depressed, seek out some support. It may help to talk though your worries with a friend or someone in your family.Talk to your doctor, too. She may be able to adjust your dosage or switch you to another drug. Hope this helps sb.

  5. I read this story time ago. But still get wondered how tricky the nature could be! Personally I cannot imagine having quadruplets at once! This must be amazing and scarying at the same time. I'm also glad people can be this healthy to successfully carry such a multiple pregnancy. And that they can be that strong to bring the kids up then. Just fantastic - nothing to add)
